Method

Nine requested finishes, one reconciled total.

The analysis includes every final 2025–26 regular-season goal except shootout goals. Wrist, snap, slap, backhand, tip-in, deflected, wrap-around, bat, and poke values come directly from the NHL play-by-play shot type.

The normalized heatmap rotates shots taken toward the left-side net by 180 degrees so every attack points right. The recorded view preserves the original full-rink coordinates. Density is a visual smoothing of goal locations, not expected goals or shot volume.
